Focus Time
The Power of the Pomodoro Technique
If you constantly find yourself opening dozens of tabs, checking social media, and feeling exhausted at the end of the day without getting much done, you need a workflow overhaul. The Pomodoro technique, invented in the late 1980s by Francesco Cirillo, forces you to focus in short, hyper-productive sprints.
How to Use This Timer
- Step 1: Select the Pomodoro mode (25 minutes).
- Step 2: Work continuously on a single task until the ring fully depletes and the timer alerts you.
- Step 3: Take a 5-minute Short Break to stretch and detach.
- Step 4: After completing 4 Pomodoros, reward yourself with a 15-minute Long Break.
What happens when the timer reaches zero?
An audible browser notification ding will play (if your device allows media auto-play) and the screen title will blink, alerting you that your session is complete.
